"Balancing the billable hour and doing anything outside of work can be a challenge; this program might be a good fit for some of your younger associates. It is a one-day program to help lawyers with productivity, time management, organization, and systems. The goal is to help attorneys manage their time to be more productive and bill more client facing time without going insane, burning out or working every waking (and non-waking) hour.
Nettie has helped me with organizing my house and schedule, so I can vouch for her that she is a great resource and thought she might be an asset to you!"

"How many 'Referral Partner' meetings do you take a week? I was all over the map. If I had an open slot and you wanted to meet me, you got it. However, that was killing my focus and prohibited me from finding extra time to work on projects that would grow my business. I am not going lie; maybe it gave me an excuse not to work on long-term projects that took a lot of focus and energy, I don't know.
Focus is hard for me... Well, that's another post... Squirrel!
In my monthly meetings with Nettie Owens, she wanted me to give one morning a week to referral partner meetings. I didn't think it would be possible to give people only two time slots a week when they could meet with me. What're the chances this would work? But I gave it a shot and have found that a lot of people don't plan or time block like this, so if I am the first to offer time, they usually take it, no problem. So, until everyone catches on to this time blocking thing, I am going to use it to my advantage and make people work around my schedule (did that sound too cocky?). Now, who wants to meet on November 2nd at 9:00 AM?" Justin S.

"Progress goes hand in hand with change. Change, unfortunately, doesn't always feel warm and fuzzy. Sometimes it feels like a sting of much-needed truth that propels you forward. Such was the case when Nettie came to our house to evaluate our work spaces and help us increase our productivity.
I didn't want to hear that it was time to ditch my old, ergonomically-challenged desk that's busting at the seams, no matter how organized I am. I definitely didn't want to hear that Justin and I should have separate home offices.
As the week went on, we started looking for new office furniture and talking about how to rearrange the spaces. I was cool with the shopping research, but admittedly not cool with changing up the layouts. I'm a creature of habit in some areas.
Now I'm actually excited about the potential that this shift represents. It affirms that we're busy enough to actually need more home office space. That's a blessing.
It reminds us that it's ok to enjoy the fruits of our labor. And it's a symbol of progress, which also goes hand in hand with success." Michelle S.
